The exposition was opened November 27, 1997. It is placed in five halls on the first floor.

There are more than 2 thousand of archaeological findings in Mogilev region: stands of the Stone Age & the Bronze Age; fortified settlements of Iron Age & the Middle Ages, ancient towns & castles, graves & barrows. The exposition shows material culture & economic life of Podneprovie region from the Paleolithic age to the Middle Ages.

The exposition displays flint & stone tools; iron articles; earthenware, ornaments, grains, etc.

The main activities of people in different epochs are shown in dioramas: «Mammoth`s hunt», «Fishing», «Pottery», «Cult place. Barrows. Settlements».

The epoch of the final Paleolithic age & the New Paleolithic age represents a collection of flint tools of different archaeological cultures. The exposition shows a finding consist of tools & arms of the Neolithic Age. The finding was made in a settlement Stary Dedin.

Visitors can see a full-size model of Paleolithic dwelling; the reconstruction of some household equipment.

A special part of the exposition is devoted to a settlement Nicodimovo. It existed on the territory of modern Gorki region in 5-7 centuries AD. It`s a unique archaeological monument of the epoch of the great transmigration of peoples. The settlement was administrative & territory center of a large area. Here was a country seat of a chief & his squad. The exposition displays a reconstruction of settlement & a great number of articles: from armor to dish & ornaments.
